Mr. Tariq Rafi warmly received the delegation, fostering an atmosphere conducive to constructive dialogue on investment prospects in Balochistan’s energy sector. The discussions, led by Mr. Muhammad Dawood Bazai, Secretary Energy, centered on four flagship projects initiated by the GoB Energy Department:
1. Solarization of Four Key Industrial Estates: A strategic initiative to transition industrial zones to renewable energy, promoting sustainability and cost efficiency.
2. Establishment of Solar Power Plants for Chaghi Mining Area: An opportunity to develop solar energy infrastructure to support mining operations in the mineral-rich Chaghi region.
3. Mini/Micro Grids in Off-Grid Areas: A project aimed at delivering reliable electricity to remote regions of Balochistan through decentralized renewable energy systems.
4. Utilization of Low BTU Gas for Power and Fertilizer Sectors: An innovative approach to leveraging low British Thermal Unit (BTU) gas to enhance energy and agricultural productivity.
Mr. Rafi, leveraging the longstanding relationship of Siddique Sons Private Limited with Balochistan as one of the region’s oldest industrial groups, pledged robust support from his business conglomerate for these initiatives. He committed to sending his business development team to Quetta for in-depth discussions on the proposed projects. Additionally, Mr. Rafi expressed keen interest in expanding investment into Balochistan’s Agriculture, Livestock, Mining, and Fisheries sectors, recognizing their potential for growth and development.
The meeting concluded with mutual expressions of gratitude, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing economic collaboration. Both parties agreed that, following the visit of Siddique Sons’ business development team to Quetta, Secretary Energy, accompanied by his team, and representatives from BBoIT, along with stakeholders from the identified sectors, will visit Karachi to finalize mutually agreed projects, paving the way for transformative development in Balochistan.
