Consultative Meeting on Solarization of Key Industrial Estates (17-07-2025)
A meeting was held under chairmanship of Mr. Muhammad Dawood Bazai; Secretary Energy in the committee room at the Energy Department to discuss the solarization of key industrial estates in Balochistan. The session was attended by MDs/PDs of LIEDA, GIEDA, QITE, SEZ Bostan and Mr. Iqbal Sarparah, Director Industries & Commerce Department GoB.
Discussions remained focus on electricity demand, tariff competitiveness, and the readiness of estates to adopt solar power. Participants confirmed strong demand and expressed willingness to shift to solar energy if tariffs remain lower than current utility rates. Estimates indicate that solar plants ranging from 5 MW to 50 MW can be viably integrated across estates. Participants were advised to engage stakeholders, identify scalable land parcels, and coordinate with District Administrations to support future expansion.
This effort supports the Energy Department’s strategy to enable sustainable and cost-effective energy solutions for industrial growth in the province.
