15000 Solar Home System Grant in Aid through CIDCA and SSCACC; People's Republic of China in Collaboration with Energy Department GoB

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti has termed the provision of home solar systems a significant milestone for the people of the province, reaffirming the government’s commitment to fulfilling electricity needs through alternative energy projects.
At the time of project launching ceremony, the Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for providing home solar systems under the CPEC initiative, which he said would help alleviate public hardships.
CM Balochistan praised the efforts of the Parliamentary Secretary for Energy, Chief Secretary, and Mr. Muhammad Dawood Bazai, Secretary for Energy, stating that the project was initially allocated Rs 350 to 400 million, but due to efficient planning, it is being completed within Rs 120 to 130 million, resulting in significant savings for the national treasury.
At least 5,000 households in Gwadar with home solar systems to provide, Chief Minister directed authorities at the time of occasion. He emphasized that the people of Gwadar should directly benefit from CPEC, as their sacrifices played a crucial role in making the project a reality.
He further announced that the Balochistan government is incorporating off-grid power stations into its development budget to ensure electricity supply to areas lacking conventional grid stations. As part of this initiative, pilot projects will be launched in Nokundi, Buleda, Sui, Sherani, and Mashkhel, with plans to expand to other districts later.
